There are two buttons on the Program Interface Main Window for calling out Log Statistics module:
Import Wizard
Log Statistics (FTP) - allows downloading and analyzing log files stored on a remote FTP server.
When launching this module it opens the four-step Log Import Wizard with the selected FTP Server radio button on the first step. Provide the following information for log files import:
- On the first step of the Log Import Wizard enter the following FTP connection information:
- FTP Host - the address of the FTP server where your log files are stored
- FTP Port - the port for establishing FTP connection (by default 21)
- Select Anonymous connection check box if your server does not require user authentication
- Username - enter the username you use for authenticating yourself at the FTP server
- Password - enter the password associated with your username for FTP authentication
After you have specified all necessary information click Next > to continue.
- On the second step select the files for import. Click Add Files, in the pop-up window browse to the FTP folder where your files are stored and select the ones you want to analyze. After that the files you have selected will be added to the Import File List. You can delete files from the list by selecting them and clicking Delete Files. After that click Next > to continue.
Note: you may compress the log files, generated by the program provided they are placed in the same folder with the PHP counter. To compress your statistics files before importing and save traffic select Archive log files before download. The compressed files will be more than ten times smaller.
- On the third step you should check if the program has recognized the log format correctly. In the Log Format window the program displays the format of the log file it has detected. If the format is not detected correctly, you can click Change Log Format and assign the names to the fields recognized by the program. Click Next > to start analysis.
- Wait while the program downloads and analyzes the selected log files. After the analysis click Finish.
Log Statistics (Local) - allows opening and analyzing log files stored on a local or LAN computer.

- On the first step of the Log Import Wizard check if the Local Files radio button is selected.
- On the second step click Add Files and in the pop-up window browse to the folder where your log files are stored. Select the files you would like to import, after which they will appear in the Import File List. To delete files from the list select them and click Delete Files. After that click Next > to continue.
- On the third step you should check if the program has recognized the log format correctly. In the Log Format window the program displays the format of the log file it has detected. If the format is not detected correctly, you can click Change Log Format and assign the names to the fields recognized by the program. Click Next > to start analysis.
- Wait while the program downloads and analyzes the selected log files. After the analysis click Finish.
The log statistics module consists of the following parts: Toolbar, Selection Pane and Report Pane. The Toolbar contains shortcuts to the following modules and functions:
- Import Log - launches Import Wizard
- Analyze by keywords - the program transfers the list of keywords list to Site Analyzer module.
- Analyze by referrers - the program transfers the list of referring URLs to Site Analyzer module.
In the Selection Pane you can select the type of report you would like to view. You can expand or collapse a tree node by clicking on the '+' symbol against the appropriate tree node. If you right-click on the Selection pane the pop-up menu will appear, where you can select to expand/collapse the current node or all nodes on the pane.
You can switch between four tabs in the Selection Pane.
- The first tab General provides access to all main reports that can be generated by the program.
- The second tab Customized allows configuring and generating customized reports: Keywords Report, Keyphrases Report, Referrers Report, Top Requested Pages report, Statistics by SE report. To generate one of these reports select the entries you would like to include and click Generate >.
- The third tab Log Map allows viewing the correlations between the pages of your sites, user paths through site, exit and entry points, etc. To view site map click on any address in the left panel, displaying all URL, visited by a user on your site. The URL you have selected will be displayed in the center of the table. All pages, from which users came to the selected page will be displayed on the left. All the pages, to which users came from the selected page are displayed on the right.

To find out the page correlations with other pages select it with the mouse. The field of every page contains numbers, for example: 20 (18) in, 8 (7) out, where:
20 - the total number of incoming links to the page
18 - the number of unique pages on the site, containing links to the page
8 - the total number of outgoing links on the page
7 - the number of unique pages the selected page links to
- History provides access to all previously generated reports.
