I have downloaded Page Promoter to work in a demo mode and tried to launch it. But the computer generated an error: "RPC server not available". What should I do?
The program does not query such servers when working - it's Windows that does.
Everything used to work smoothly, but after our system administrator has installed a firewall in our office Spider module does not work, although Ranking Utility works as it used to before. What is the main difference between the two modules?
Most probably the firewall is not correctly set up. After you correct the firewall settings the problem should disappear. There is no difference between the two modules, but the firewall may interpret their requests differently.
Which firewall port should I open for the correct work of Page Promoter?
Page Promoter uses the same ports as an ordinary Internet browser, there are no special settings.
Can I transfer a project from one computer to another?
Save the folder "projects", which is located in the folder
C:\Program Files\Page Promoter.com\db
and files project.pdb, project.res and then place them in the corresponding folder on another machine.
Where should I enter the e-mail addresses of all recipients in the Reports module?
Enter them in the E-mail reports recipients field, pressing Enter key after each one.
The Spider module does not work, the program says: "Spidering cannot be completed. Cannot connect!"
Most probably, the program is not configured correctly to work on the Internet. Please check the following:
- your internet connection
- if the proxy server settings you have entered in the System Options are correct (in case you connect to the Internet through a proxy server)
- check if your firewall allows access to the Internet for the modules of the software
Which ports and which protocol does the Spider module use for scanning sites?
Spider uses the same ports as an ordinary browser via HTTP protocol.
Can I add my own catalogs to the program database?
No, you can't. Tell us what catalogs you would like to add to the program database and our specialists will include them in the next update package, which will be available on our site.
When running Ranking Utility and Page Analyzer I get message "Please update program database", although I have just downloaded the updates.
This situation is only possible if you are running the demo version of the program.
If the program has been registered, try reinstalling the program correctly and updating its database.
How can I remove certain pages from the submit list? What if there are many pages I want to remove?
Go to the Spider module and select multiple pages using Ctrl, Shift buttons or just select them with the mouse. Then delete them with the Delete button.
I tried to analyze a site, but the program didn't yield any results. I tried several other sites written in PHP, but again there was no result. Does the program work only with static HTML files?
Check your internet settings. The program works with all kinds of dynamic sites perfectly.
I have entered the registration key, updated the database, but still there is 5 keywords limitation in the Doorway Generator module.
5 keywords limitation is not connected with the demo version limitations, it's just the optimal number of keywords for a doorway page.
I have heard that doorway pages are very useful for site rank, but search engines claim to dislike them. Will my site be banned for using doorway pages?
Well, doorway pages are somewhat dangerous, use them at your own risk.
Doorway page registration
Doorway pages should only be submitted to FFA sites and minor regional and international. It is not recommended to submit doorway pages to major international search engines, and, moreover to directories, since the site will be listed in the directory only after a human editor visits the site.
Using doorway pages is somewhat a risky trick, hence, if you are not sure of your abilities to handle the situation, we do not recommend using them at all.
There are more than 700 thousand entries in the program database. When submitting to them the site is registered at 500 000 more sites. Why does the program fail to register my site at over half of these sites?
The reasons may vary - you may have provided insufficient information on the profile (Advanced tab), or you do not have the most up to date database. Try checking if the information you provide complies with the requirements of the resources you submit your site to; update the program database - it is updated on a weekly basis by our programmers. After that try submitting your site again - the results must improve.
Is there a difference between separating the keywords with white spaces and commas?
Yes, according to specification keywords must be separated with commas.
What is the optimal number of doorway pages to be generated for every page of my site?
If you are going to place all of your doorway pages on the same server, there is no difference. The number of pages is important only if you plan to put your doorway pages on several servers - we recommend creating several doorway pages for the start page of the site and every key page of your site.
Should I upload my doorway pages before or after my site has been indexed by search robots?

How often does a spider revisit my site? Only 3 pages have been indexed so far, and the rest haven't been visited for over two weeks. My site contains about 70 sections, every section contains plenty of cross-references - altogether 25 Mb of information + graphics, multimedia.
Sometimes it takes from 2 to 3 weeks for the spider to come to the site - be patient.
