Domain Name Checker Domain Name Checker - faq

I am trying to add a domain name to the list (e. g. www.mysite.com) and get the message "Program does not support domain names mysite.com. Add to list?"

Domain names may be up to 67 characters long including the last four which specify the TLD (Top Level Domain) you select (.com, .net or .org). In our program you should type a domain name you want plus TLD.

Only the following characters are permitted in domain names:

  1. Letters of the English alphabet in lower case (from a to z).
  2. Arabic numerals (from 0 to 9).
  3. The dash symbol (-) as long as the domain name does not begin or end with a dash (-).

No spaces or other characters are permitted.

Include the correct "dot" extension, i.e. .com, .org or .net, but exclude the "www." prefix when typing your domain name. A domain name is the main part of a web address (also known as a universal resource location or URL for short), such as DomainNameChecker.com and is quite like a "named" unique Internet address. It determines the overall name of the web site and is therefore the single most important thing that your customers/readers/listeners need to remember about your web site. The domain name also determines the end part of all email addresses used with the web site, such as info@DomainNameChecker.com . The domain name appears in ALL references to the web site.

The overall structure of a simple web URL is:

protocol://sub-domain. domain name/web page

EEG. http://www.DomainNameChecker.org

So http is the protocol, www is the sub-domain, DomainNameChecker.org is the domain name. This is a simplified explanation of the structure of web addresses. Note that http is the default protocol and www the default sub-domain in most browsers so they do not normally need to be entered when browsing to a particular web site: DomainNameChecker.org is sufficient.

Can I transfer project files on another computer?

By default your project file is located in the directory, where Domain Name Checker is installed, in the subdirectory Projects. It has an extension .ddt. You can copy it for storing and using on another computer, provided both copies of the program are registered. You will not be able to open an existing project with an unregistered copy of the program if it contains more than 5 entries.

Why does the program have a limitation on simultaneous check of more than 30 domain names?

This limitation has been imposed for maximum safety in working with the program. Most WHOIS servers are protected from the automated queries, so the program emulates human-like mode when performing a query. We think that 20 connections is the optimal maximum number that should not be exceeded.
